This page is a look at the locomotives built by or for the LNER.  Some designs from the pre-grouping companies have been included here if the LNER built examples between 1923-1947.  Other pre-grouping locomotives inherited by the LNER are included in the Pre-grouping pages.  The LNER built locomotives are separated into wheel arrangements to make locating them easier.  A few locomotives may have their own pages if the amount of information available warrants this.
